Seeking God’s Wisdom

I’m not in a particular Bible study right now. (Not recommended/ or recommending..they say to not Willy nilly open the Bible because you can be more consistent with a plan) When I go to do a scripture reading, I’m just letting God guide my curiosity of people and books lead me. I’ve read in Proverbs before of course but wanted to start from the beginning. If anything touches my heart or makes a 💡 moment I want to share 🤗 A proverb is not a magical formula, bringing wisdom and blessing by incantation: “Like a lame man’s legs, which hang useless, is a proverb in the mouth of fools” Prov. 26:7

Proverbs 1:26-27 “I in turn will laugh at your calamity. I will mock when terror strikes you like a storm and your calamity comes like a whirlwind, when trouble and stress overcome you.”

Calamity means unexpected disaster that causes personal distress. Crazy how the word resembles “calm” but it’s the complete opposite.

This part is talking about living in the world, with the YOLO mindset. I will live my way for now and then later turn to wisdom. BUT what was chosen as a heart posture cannot be redeemed through a superficial response to a circumstance. When you choose folly (foolishness), you are choosing adversity.

Then when the circumstances suck, out of desperation the fools want to escape the consequences. 😣

(👋🏽 hey, been there)

28- Then they will call me, but I won’t answer. They will search for me, but they won’t find me.

With unGodly patterns, it’s hard to flip the switch from foolishness to to wisdom. It’s hard to regroup from our perceptions, attitudes, and maybe addictions.  You have the choice of benefit 🙌🏽 or peril 😵 . It is important to choose wisdom instead of sewing wild oats.

29- Because they hated knowledge, didn’t choose to fear the Lord, were not interested in my councel, and rejected my correction, they will eat the fruit of their way and be glutted (satiated/full) 🐷 with their own schemes.

Waywardness and complacency of the naive (inexperienced, this is why we need God’s wisdom) will kill and destroy them.

33 BUT whoever listens to me will live securely and be FREE (undisturbed) from the fear of danger. 💃

God’s guidance should not be used then discarded but woven into the fabric of our being so it transforms our perceptions, attitudes, and actions. 🎉

Thank you God for weaving in me wisdom and showing that sewing wild oats isn’t the goodness you have for us and doesn’t compare to the fruit and righteousness you desire for us to harvest 🙌🏽
